QICS Call for Projects - Open Permanently

Financial support for the promotion and development of small projects for quantum information and its ecosystem

Dear members of the quantum community of Sorbonne University,

For the second year in a row, QICS is launching its call for projects aiming at funding small projects in quantum information that are struggling to find complementary resources to continue under good conditions.
The observation that a certain number of small projects are difficult to finance is still accurate.
This is why we wish to renew our call for projects, to encourage and promote the development of our community's projects by financing, for example :

  • internship bonuses;
  • the purchase of small equipment (video camera, or small material for an experimental test);
  • the production of communication tools or scientific mediation (podcast, videos, games, etc.)
  • the organization of seminars, workshops, conferences;
  • travel / missions ;
  • or any other activity for which funding may be difficult to obtain.

Launching this call means offering you our financial support, but also offering visibility to your team projects.

Terms of application :

With a global envelope of 15 K Euros, the objective is to allow teams to obtain additional funding to bring their projects to success or to develop them, and/or to allow discussions and interdisciplinary connections within the QICS community. This amount may be increased if additional needs are identified in the community.

Supported to a maximum of 5000 euros per project, applicants are invited to submit a letter of intent (in French or English) of two pages maximum indicating

  • the nature of your project ;
  • the teams involved
  • the budget requested and the nature of the expenses envisaged.

Submitted projects will be evaluated on an ongoing basis by the QICS Steering Committee and may result in a short hearing to clarify the project's outline.

Eligibility requirements:
