The QICS scientific meet-up

These monthly events gathers all PhD students in quantum information at Sorbonne University alliance to discover the different theses of the community. It is also sometimes initiated in order to create cross laboratory collaborations.

The QICS scientific meet-up

Seminars by and for QICS doctoral and post-doctoral students only

The QICS proposes to initiate inter-doctoral/post-doctoral seminars of the Sorbonne University Alliance so that its members can discover the vast range of research topics related to quantum information.

Objective:

This monthly event aims to bring together PhD and post-doctoral students working on various and diverse topics of quantum information in order to discover the wide spectrum of research. Through this interdisciplinarity, they will be able, on the one hand, to complete and share their knowledge, and on the other hand, to develop collaborations and joint projects.

Concretely, our mission is to allow PhD and postdoctoral students to meet, to work together and to open the quantum community to other scientific fields. Therefore, people from other research fields are welcome, and are invited to present us the possible synergies between their work and quantum information.

The QICS tutorials

Tutorials are a new format proposed by the QICS for its community.

These two-hour courses enable quantum information students (from masters to post-doctorates) to expand their knowledge on specific topics and draw on expertise from the various quantum information disciplines. The speakers may be researchers, professors or experts from the business world.

Objective:

The aim of the tutorials is to create a forum for students and researchers in the field of quantum information to exchange and share their knowledge. These events provide an opportunity to deepen and share knowledge. The format of these tutorials is as follows:

  • 1 hour plenary session open to everyone
  • 1 hour Q&A session only between the speaker and the students
  • a free lunch for students only
