Tutorial on quantum hardware for CS/math researchers

1-Day tutorial on June 10th, 2024 at Sorbonne Université, Pierre & Marie Curie campus, Jussieu.

Presentation

In order to bring together the CS/math researchers on quantum thematics and the promising results towards the physical implementation of quantum computers, we would like to invite you to a 1-day tutorial where quantum physicists involved in state-of-the-art experiments will give an overview of the hardware side of quantum computing. It will be interesting to learn the advances on the hardware for people with quantum CS/math background. The event will take place on June 10th in the Amphithéâtre 25 of Sorbonne Université campus UPMC, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Objectives

The aim of the event is to cover three most mature technologies present in the Paris area: superconducting qubits, neutral atoms, and optical (photonic) setups.
The invited speakers are also requested to put these technologies in a wider context, highlighting specificities, bottlenecks, and possible opportunities for more interaction with the (CS/math) theory community.
The day is meant to be highly interactive, with ample time to ask general and basic quantum technology questions. The only expected background is a basic knowledge of quantum computing formalism.
